Our client are a leading consultancy with extensive experience delivering major projects in both the public and private sector.
The role.
·To develop and maintain project programmes for one region of a national Homeland Security programme. Liaison with a Regional Project Manager and a number of project managers, under direction of the programme planner.
·Assisting with reporting, development of reporting tools, and other support to the programme planning team as required.
Duties.
·Development and maintenance of a regional programme to a tight timetable on a fortnightly basis.
·Production and issue of planning output including progress reports and other programme reports on a fortnightly basis.
·Liaison with a Regional Project Manager and project managers for one of three regional teams, responsible for reporting the output of the planning process and maintaining planning standards.
·Attend and chair regional programme review meetings and update project progress.
·Attend and provide input to weekly planning team coordination meetings.
·Provide cover to other members of the planning team (attendance at meetings, production of output) as directed by the Planning Team Manager.
·Some travel to project sites, and occasional attendance at off-site meetings.
·Providing accurate and timely information to the programme planning team.
·Production of ad-hoc programme and report output in response to requests from the Managing Agent team.
·Responding to ad-hoc queries regarding project details, status and current progress.
Competencies.
·Good working knowledge of Primavera 6.2; ability to manipulate data in Primavera P6 including a good working knowledge of layout production, filters and the import/export of programme data using XER and Excel files.
·Excellent communication skills.
·Skilled at developing and maintaining project plans, particularly in a construction/infrastructure environment.
·Good working knowledge of Microsoft products particularly Excel, including the manipulation of data. Microsoft Project experience would also be useful.
·Accurate, with a good attention to detail, including the ability to question and identify incorrect information.
·Ability to work under pressure with delivery to deadlines.
·Ability to work as part of a team, but also alone with minimal supervision.
