OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:
The primary objectives of the Project Lead position will be to support the PMO Programme Director in specific accountabilities which will be associated with design work of electrical aspects of the power station that include 400 KV switch yard, OHL, GIS, Transformers and Protection systems to the point of procurement and thereafter surveillance of the supply on behalf of the AE. This role will involve visits to Darlington, Knutsford, other UK locations, Paris and other locations in France.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Ensure customer’s requirements are adequately specified, understood, can be verified and are deliverable by the organisation
• Develop proposal, cost estimates, schedules etc. and work for the projects with the business management and control team
• Support negotiations to secure appropriate contractual cover for the projects • Interfacing and co-ordination with AE, owner and the various suppliers
• Establish and mobilise a delivery organisation coordinating with various engineering leads
• Development and implementation of project resourcing plans
• Ensure that processes, procedures and controls are deployed for the work and they are consistent with the UK EPR programme plans and processes and those of the customer
• Ensure that deliverables are aligned with needs and expectations of their recipients, including the customer, the owner and suppliers as applicable
• Comply with all project governance processes
• Provision of performance information
• Ensure adequate scope and interface management is applied
• Ensure project control and forecasting, risk management, assistance to sourcing management of engineering tasks
• Implementation of the methods, tools necessary to deliver the projects
• Identification and defining and prioritising tasks that need to be undertaken
• Act as supervising manager for the personnel assigned to the project noting they may have professional management lines elsewhere
• Highlight and represent EDF’s concerns issues etc. to the leadership team
• Delivery P&L for the project element.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering or relevant area
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Ten plus years of demonstrable progressive leadership experience and large project delivery experience. Awareness of organisational, engineering, relationship management, commercial and supply chain aspects and experiences with:

• Knowledge of key commercial considerations
• Experience of project controls and governance processes and procedures

Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment.
Must include Excel and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping.
