JOB TITLE: Site Superintendent

COMPANY INFORMATION:
My client is a leading engineering services supplier to the UK Process Industry.
OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:
To be responsible for the co-ordination, preparation and execution of the agreed work scope in a safe manner, to the agreed engineering quality standards, cost and project programme, by supervising, controlling and administering tradesmen.
RESPONDS TO:
B3 Account Manager. Accountable for maintenance team performance to B3 Engineering Manager
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
SHE
• Ensure that all team members are familiar with and adhering to the safety plans and rules
• Audit and inspect the workplace for adherence to the safety plan
• Ensure all accidents, incidents and near misses are reported and follow-up actions completed
• Ensure through liaison with the customers plant team that all permits, documentation and approvals for maintenance are adequate, and completed prior to work commencing
• Manage and audit the correct delivery of toolbox talks and other safety briefings
Programme
• Manage the work programme look ahead, identifying changes / variations to the agreed scope and timescale
• Report work progress at regular site meetings to B3 as and when required
• Ensure regular progress updates are provided
• Identify and co-ordinate achievement of all key target dates
• Intervene with improvement actions to correct programme slippage.
Costs
• Register all variations (modifications / deviations / delays) to the known scope
• Manage the allocated team multi disciplined tradesmen in the most cost effective and efficient manner
Quality
• Audit application of B3 and site quality standards and plans
• Set up working files, monitoring tools and reports for job allocation and resource control
Trade Supervision
• Maintain labour effectiveness by providing alternative work when planned work has unavoidably delayed
• Identify improvement opportunities, both organisational and technical, and implement appropriate solutions
• Manage daily timekeeping of on site labour
• Manage minor industrial relations and disciplinary action at the site level
• Ensure that performance assessments are completed for all site labour.
OTHER DUTIES:
• Effective interface with B3 Management on all issues including task, personnel, programme and commercial areas.
• Work with a cross section of B3 employees on routine, planned preventative and Kaizen tasks, ensuring appropriate action and representing the best interests of the company.
