ECC Project Manager, Infrastructure

 

Challenging opening for a heavy weight ECC Project Manager with a leading international company providing services across the infrastructure market sector.

In Infrastructure the primary focus is on clients in the transport, water and energy sectors enabling them to achieve their goals by providing cost, programme and project management consultancy.

 

Main function and scope of position:

 

Act as the ECC Project Manager for Flood Alleviation & Coastal Management projects, undertaking contract administration in accordance with the conditions of the contract.

 

Duties under the contract include:

 

- early warning regarding increased costs, delay in completion, delay in meeting, impaired performance of the work

- early warning of risk, and seeking solutions

- early warning of ambiguity or inconsistency, or illegality of documentation

- to accept particulars of the design of equipment or reasons for non-acceptance

- to accept proposed conditions of subcontractors or reasons for non-acceptance

- to assess costs incurred in test or inspection after defects are found, and arrange to be corrected

- to assess the amount due for payment at each assessment date and be responsible for certifying payments

- to notify of compensation events which arise from changes and manage the compensation process

- to issue termination certificates and to certify final payments

 

Ideal candidate:

 

The suitable person for this position will be client facing. There will be pressure to meet deadlines in an environment containing unexpected interruptions and problems. Communication and people skills are important aspects of the job. The suitable candidate will be self-starting, influential, persuasive and self-confident.

Independence and mobility are also factors for this position.

 

Experience:

 

Applicants must have acted in a similar role, specifically using NEC.

Previous experience will be client facing.

NEC contract: fully comprehensive working knowledge.
