JOB TITLE: Shift Analytical Chemist
LOCATION: Runcorn, Cheshire
SALARY: £29,500
DURATION: Temporary- 3/6 months
OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:
Shift Analytical Chemist team is responsible for the support of the manufacturing plants, on a 24 hour, 7 days a week basis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The shift pattern operated consists of 12 hour shifts, on a four on six off basis (two days, two nights).
Approximately four times a year, breaks of 20 days are rostered in.
The Shift Analytical Chemist’s role places considerable demands on the analysts due to the amount of work that arises during the shift, together with the need to support different production assets.
The analyst will, after training, be versed in many analytical techniques, wet chemical, AA, Ion chromatography, and, especially Gas Chromatography.
Previous experience in these techniques would be desirable. Full training will be given.
As a major COMAH site, SHE is paramount and all personnel on site are expected to operate to high SHE standards and to comply with all of the site’s rules and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
In particular, the analytical chemist will be required to support the hydrofluoric acid facility: requiring the analysis of anhydrous hydrogen fluoride, an extremely toxic, hazardous chemical.
A full driving licence will be required since the analytical chemists have use of a vehicle for picking up samples.
