An international Safety and Risk Consultancy is currently seeking a Safety Case Author to work from their Thurso office. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to be involved in the UK Nuclear New Build Program.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
*Safety assessment production, and other technical inputs, to safety cases and safety documentation for a range of facilities;
*Report-writing for a number of operators, regulators and industry stakeholders and reviewing work for technical accuracy;
*Writing technical proposals including establishing schedules and budgets for projects or tasks within projects;
* Communicating with and managing project team members;
*Revising the scope of work, approach, schedules and budgets as required and monitoring project spend;
*Maintaining quality, managing changing priorities and working to challenging timescales;
*Ensuring that clients are properly satisfied and the Company\'s good reputation is maintained.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
*Hazard identification
*Risk analysis (quantitative and qualitative)
*Fault trees/FMEA/ALARP justification
*Use of engineering substantiation in safety justification
*Control and instrumentation
*Waste management assessment
*Experience of managing project and staff resources to ensure commitments are delivered to the required time, cost and technical standard would also be an advantage.
Due to the nature of the work, candidates must have SC clearance or be willing to go through SC clearance.
