Kier Construction delivers Major Civil Engineering and Rail Infrastructure projects throughout the UK and provides a full building and civil engineering service internationally.


 


Requirements



Kier Construction seeking to employ Business Development Manager to identify, develop and ultimately secure construction / Civil related work in the existing and emerging Overseas Market.


 


Responsibilities


 



  • Presenting Kier to potential clients through direct communication, in face to face meetings, telephone calls and e-mails

  • Attend meetings and events with clients and potential clients

  • Generation of leads and appointments for preliminary interviews and briefings

  • Attention to detail to ensure all potential leads are captured and explored

  • Report on Business Development activities to the management board

  • Represent Kier at industry events and trade shows

  • Manage a pipeline of opportunities ensuring that all deadlines are met and that information presented meets the company standards

  • Assist in the creation of client proposals and any subsequent documentation as part of the Kier submission team

  • Develop a thorough understanding of clients marketing objectives, their organisation, their personnel and their capital works programme

  • Interact with other departments especially the estimating and technical teams

  • Keep informed about issues affecting the industry sector and collect competitor information

  • Ensure Kier remains proactive and responsive to prospective clients

  • Maintain contacts with other Group Business Development Managers to ensure a crossflow of information

  • Produce a report of opportunities and leads which is updated on a monthly basis

  • Monitor and report upon Client Satisfaction Forms and produce information on a monthly basis for the Key Performance Indicators


 


The Individual


 


Whilst detailed civil engineering knowledge is not essential, understanding and previous exposure to the wider construction industry is a prerequisite as the clients team will, in the main, be project specific. The successful candidate will have gravity and a will to win. Ability to work as part of team whilst maintaining own initiative.


 


You will be a naturally a self starter with extensive overseas experience. The individual will have the initiative and personal presentability to circulate with the client’s decision makers.
