Our Client a leading provider of facilities maintenance and support services in the built environment has an immediate requirement for a M&E Project Manager to work within the Northern region of the UK covering from Newcastle down to Stoke.
The project are varied and include anything from chillier replacements, new fire alarms and sprinklers systems to large fit-out and refurbish works. Their Clients include large Blue Chip commercial office and some Public Sector PCT.
M&E Project Manager Consultant or Contractors will be considered however candidates must have good client-facing skills as the position demands lots of client interaction, developing designs, proposals and dealing with other stakeholders. You will also be dealing directly with sub-contractors so these skills are also necessary.
The
Role includes:
- Manage delivery of projects with agreed budget requirements to maximise profit.
- Deliver specific and considered solutions within mutually agreed project plan.
- Identify, reduce and manage all statutory and commercial risks associated with the projects.
- Ensure client acceptance is adhered too in writing in line with the project plans.
- Mutually agreed payment schedules and applications for payment to be made in line with project plan.
- Ensure compliance with the company's project management policies and procedures.
- Provide timely monthly reports to the Head of Projects in an agreed format.
- Ensure subcontractors are closely managed and that all terms and conditions are back to back whenever possible.
- Ensure aged debt is controlled below 45 days.
- Accountabilities include accountable day-to-day to the relevant client, line management responsibility for a project team and indirectly for sub-contractors plus financial responsibility for the delivery of the Project/s.
- Be able to travel within the UK and outside of the region to which they are allocated.
The Project Manager skills and experience required for this role:
- Must have Project Management experience and have delivered large scale and/or multiple projects
- Experience of CDM management
- Over 5 years experience in the M&E or Hard Services markets and having a good knowledge of building fabric repairs and replacements.
- Good communication and man management skills and a proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Team player, as they will work closely with the Contract Managers Area General Managers but able to deliver projects to a high standard single handed
- Be able to communicate with Customers at all levels and develop existing relationships
- Create new project opportunities within and outside the contract maintenance base
- Have the knowledge and expertise to maximise sales opportunities
- Be commercially aware, reliable and IT literate with skills covering MS Project, Word and Excel.
- Able to develop the supply chain within the region
- Take a project from inception to completion
- Capable of delivering a project portfolio in excess of £2m/annum with individual projects potentially over £1m.
- Understand CRC, energy use and have a good knowledge of energy saving products
- Hold a UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle acceptable to be utilised in the performance of their role.
