Senior Project Manager, Healthcare

Immediate opportunity to join multi disciplinary construction company within their successful healthcare division. This company offers program and construction management, specialist healthcare consulting and, in the United Kingdom, is one of the leading providers of new public hospitals funded, built and managed as Private Finance Initiatives projects. They also have wide ranging international expertise in the healthcare industry constructing modern hospitals that are designed to meet the fast changing needs of hospital operators, their clinicians and patients.

To deliver best practice in the healthcare sector this company works closely with health industry operators to meet their strategic, business and financial objectives using a wide range of skills including project financing and facilities management.

Job Purpose:

Personally responsible for delivering a number of small to medium (C£5-30m) healthcare projects or leading a single large (C£30m+) healthcare project, together with assisting in the development of new business in the healthcare sector.

Key Accountabilities:

·Assisting on individual healthcare bids supporting Sector/Regional leads.

·Assisting in closing appointments and ensuring contract documents are executed.

·Preparing and maintaining the Project Execution Plan and internal commercial reporting.

·Ensuring adherence to project control systems.

·Ensuring project risks are documented/managed through a risk register.

·Ensuring management of the change control process to ensure client authority is obtained prior to issuing instructions to the team.

·Overseeing/preparing Key Performance Indicators for the team.

·Overseeing/preparing an IIF plan for each project reflecting latest current internal EHS guidance and best practice.

·Implementing the procurement strategy for consultants and contractors.

·Administering construction contracts.

·Managing other staff as agreed with Regional Director.

·Seeking out repeat business opportunities and assisting in negotiating additional appointments.

Skills and Experience:

·Educated to degree level in a construction or construction-related subject

·Holding a construction related professional membership - RICS/CIOB/APM

·Considerable experience in NHS healthcare sector

·Experience of Procure 21

·Good general experience in construction related project management

·Understanding of healthcare planning principles

·Experience of dealing with a variety of consultants, clients and major contractors within a NHS environment

·Experience of approaches to construction procurement prevalent in the NHS environment

·Experience of administering forms of construction contract used by the NHS

·The ability to mediate in conflict situations

·The ability to provide professional guidance and task management for direct reports

·Experience of supporting healthcare PM consultancy bids
