Requirements


A unique opportunity has arisen for a Senior Commercial Manager to join our business in London, South East region. The successful candidate will have a strong track record in Commercial Management in major projects within Heavy Civil Engineering sector (essential). The purpose of this role is to provide overall commercial control and support to large civil engineering contracts within the region.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Estimating interface when pricing and agreeing tenders with Clients.
  • Lead Client interface on all commercial issues and contractual obligations
  • Provide commercial management advice and guidance on all contractual and operational issues.
  • Procurement / Construction & Claims strategies.
  • Ensure accuracy of internal turnover, margin and outturn cost figures at a site level.
  • Profit & Loss accountability at a site level.
  • The management of Internal and External Audits.
  • Development, preparation and organisation of QS Workshops & Training Days.
  • Removal of Commercial Holds on Subcontract Payments.
  • Setting requirements for measuring, recording and valuing subcontract work.
  • Understanding construction techniques, sustainable and environmental construction and the practical application of Health and Safety on site.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Civil Law, Contract Documents and Insurances

 

The Individual

 

  • HNC / HND / BTEC or Degree (Construction related).
  • Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
  • Demonstration of knowledge and practical application of the commercial role of Quantity Surveying in relation to construction activities.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent leadership skills along with a sound commercial and financial acumen are essential for this role.
