JOB TITLE: Buyer
LOCATION: Gaydon, Warwickshire
SALARY/RATE: £18 LTD

COMPANY INFORMATION:
My client is a leading automobile manufacturer who specialise in the luxury sports car sector.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:
To procure a defined range of products at competitive prices, consistent with the company’s requirements for quality, service and business practice.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop commodity strategies to identify suitable technologies, and ‘preferred’ suppliers, who can enter into a long-term business relationship.
• Demonstrate a confident and mature approach to teamwork and have the business acumen and commercial skill set to achieve and annually deliver Purchasing objectives.
• Confidently enter into total cost and contractual negotiations with current and potential suppliers and to identify cost saving opportunities. 
• Ensure suppliers have the capacity to support both production and pre-production builds with parts that meet the quality, cost and delivery needs of the business.
• Demonstrate an ability to analyse cost data, and have a working knowledge of manufacturing processes in the automotive sector. 
• Recognition and understanding of SPAP. 
• Understand the tools and techniques used in Industry to close cost gaps, whilst maintaining supplier relationships.
• Identify new technical developments, automotive and non automotive, through various sources.  
• Have the ability to provide a comprehensive supplier risk assessment.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
The successful candidate must possess the skills and business acumen to successfully perform to a high standard in a Purchasing environment which is challenging and ever-changing.

The candidate must demonstrate an ability to offer a high level of customer service, be assertive in negotiation and decision making and have the drive and commitment to deliver results.    

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
A relevant business related degree, CIPS qualifications or equivalent would be advantageous
