Company Profile:
Our client is a major civil engineering contractor operating across the UK various sectors such as Rail, Infrastructure, Roads, Highways and Utilities. They are looking for a Contracts Manager to join their team working in the utilities services sector.
Role:
As a member of the Senior Management Team for the client, the Contracts Manager will have a highly challenging role in developing and growing a substantial core business, both within its existing customer base and across the wider UK businesses. You will be responsible to the delivery of all goals and objectives associated to all Engineering Services and Street-lighting contracts.
Main Duties
· Contribute to the overall management of the business (Utilities) in terms of strategy, policy, planning, Health & Safety, HR and budgetary control
· Review, develop and implement the strategy plan to grow the Power business profitably
· Build and develop significant external business with new and existing clients on a wider regional basis
· Identify and win new business from within the company’s UK’s existing customer base, working closely with their OU’s Business Development team on internal business development opportunities
· Review the organisational structure, staff, technical skills and training to improve productivity and efficiency
· Set and deliver operational performance targets in terms of contracts, budgets, Health & Safety and customer relationships
· Establish credibility with peer group as the new leader of the division by demonstrating commitment to core values
· Ensure the overall achievement of financial and growth targets, in line with appropriate forecasts and targets
· Review and improve the operational performance of every part of the business to ensure that contracts are being delivered profitably, safely, and to the satisfaction of the company’s customers
· Provide commercial input and support on contract negotiations and the closure of contract terms and conditions
· Work closely with HR on recruitment, retention, training, development and succession planning for staff
Requirements
· Must be able to manage a framework contract up to £30m
· Must have electrical distribution knowledge
· Must have a full understanding of Streetworks management
· Worked for a main UK Civil Engineering Contractor in the same or similar discipline
