Principal Bridge Engineer

Our client, a leading multi-diciplinary consultancy have an opening for a Principal Structural Engineer with a desire to work on exciting infrastructure projects.They would be expected to have substantial experience in the design of rail and road related structures (bridges / railway stations, etc).The successful candidate would join the existing structures team who are currently providing design services on a variety of major infrastructure projects in the tunnelling, rail and highway sectors within the UK and internationally.

Requirements (Essential)

Civil engineering related degree, BEng level minimum, or equivalent

Chartered (ICE or IStructE)

Experience in the detailed design of railway related structures (above and below ground stations and station refurbishment)

Understanding of Network Rail design and technical approval processes

Experience of designing to Eurocodes

Good working knowledge of CDM requirements

Experience of leading a design team, planning design work and managing programme and budgets for design tasks.

Full UK driving licence.

Requirements (non essential)

Working with Contractors on design and build projects

Experience in the detailed design of road and rail bridges and heavy civil engineering (for example deep station boxes)

Steelwork design experience

Understanding of the Highway Agency / DMRB design and technical approval processes

Project Management experience
