The company is one of the leading providers of technical consultancy, engineering services and programme and asset management to the nuclear industry.
OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:
Due to continued success, my client is now looking to recruit a Principal OHS to take the lead in the development and implementation of the UK OHS Management System. This will support the nuclear engineering department in the construction management of four EPR units at Hinkley and Sizewell.
Although this opportunity is based in London, the ability to speak French will be an asset as you will be liaising with their Paris office on a regular basis.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
To deliver the:
• overall structure of the DIN UK OHS system ensuring key influences (NSL, BE systems, EDFE systems (particularly AIMS), OHSAS 18001, EDF SA and Flamanville) are addressed
• purpose and extent of each of the elements of that system
• production and approval route for the OHS elements
• organisation (including roles and responsibilities) that will need to be in place before site opening in July 2010 and resources needed to populate that organisation
• programme for the production of the DIN UK OH&S Management System, and as a priority the production of the;
• CPP.
• actually documentation
• implementation of the system
• activities within the project
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
NEBOSH diploma.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree in Engineering (or equivalent).
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Essential – Minimum of 5 years in UK OHS working in a regulated industry preferably Nuclear:
• experience of OHS system development
• knowledge of UK H&S legislation
• interfacing with other construction management disciplines on multi-discipline projects
• Site-based construction and installations experience
Desirable - An ability to communicate in French (written and spoken) would be advantageous.
