JOB TITLE: Senior Nuclear Mechanical Handling

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:
My client is a partner in the Architect Engineer for the UK EPR Nuclear Power Station project. This role will be embedded in EDF SEPTEN to provide support in the field of rotating equipment. While providing support to SEPTEN the successful candidate will develop valuable detailed knowledge of the UKEPR programme, technology and key networks.
Following completion of this assignment it is expected the individual will take up another role within the UK EPR project.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Within the Nuclear Building and Layout branch of SEPTEN the individual will provide technical support in Elaboration and adaptation of the 7 Books of Technical Specification to adapt to the UK context of standards and regulation.
Conduct specific studies of the comparison of UK and French regulations and standards. Verify the English translations of technical documentation (design and qualification guidelines).
Perform surveillance of nuclear mechanical handling equipment contracts (including the RPV Multi stud tensioner) technical specification and design studies.
Support the licensing of the UK EPR (including preparation of responses to the HSE).
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
HND Mechanical Engineering
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters degree Mechanical Engineering
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
For an HND qualified engineer a minimum of 10 years experience in mechanical handling design and maintenance. Less experience will be considered for a degree qualified engineer. This experience must be UK based and preferably in the UK Nuclear industry.
