They have a current vacancy for a Principal level Town Planner to be based in their office in central London to develop and deliver their Planning Consultancy

Essential Criteria

  • Relevant planning qualification (degree or equivalent work experience)
  • Relevant development control experience and a sound understanding of the planning process gained in either the English/Welsh or Scottish planning systems.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise own workload and work with limited supervision
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Full Driving licence
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent customer care approach and skills
  • Flexibility in responding to changing demands and a willingness to be involved in service improvement and business development as required
  • Proactive approach to personal development

Desirable Criteria

  • Member of the RTPI
  • Relevant experience of planning policy formulation

The Role & Responsibilities

The main purpose of this role is to provide planning consultancy services for a range of public and private sector clients. The main aspects of this role will involve:

  • To Carry out general Planning Consultancy.
  • Preparation of Development Plan Frameworks.
  • Sustainability Appraisal.
  • Environmental Impact Assessment.
  • Supplementary Planning Guidance.
  • Site Appraisals.
  • Urban Capacity Appraisals.
  • Processing of Planning Applications.
  • Maintaining and Developing Client Relationships.
  • Preparation of Bid proposals.
